Whale Watching Cruise (August to November)

The humpbacks aren't just passing by each August through October - they're taking time out in the calm, sheltered waters of Platypus Bay to socialise and nurture their young before continuing their migration south. Cruises leave from the resort daily with close encounters with these magnificent ocean giants guaranteed!

Our whale watching cruises are hosted by our partner Quick Cat II. The vessel is equipped with a hydrophone, allowing guests to listen to the live underwater sounds of these gentle giants and an optional extra could see your delegates swimming with whales. You'll also enjoy expert commentary; home-made morning tea; children’s activity booklet (if needed) and wheelchair/pram access.

Hervey Bay was named the world’s first Whale Heritage Site - find out why!
